General discussion • Re: Verification of Raspberry Pi 4 demise

I have had an Octoprint facility running successfully with my Ender 3 printer for some time using an old Raspberry Pi model B and recently decided to upgrade to a Pi 4 to speed up interactions with the printer/Octoprint. I initially used the Raspbian OS SD card from my original set up and that seemed to work. I created a new SD card using the Raspberry Pi Imager and picked the OS that is specifically quoted for new system (ie includes Octoprint). In amongst all the to-ing and fro-ing I think I may have fried the Pi; all I get on applying power is the Red led lit but the Green one does not flash as usual. I have tried isolating the Pi from the printer set up, created a "new"SD card with the 32 bit legacy operating system and run the Pi from a different power source but to no avail. Does anyone know if there is a way to verify whether the Pi is dead before I consider spending another £40+? Any help or advice (even if it is of the "be more careful next time! variety" ) would be welcome.
Pretty much everything the forums know about this is gathered together here ->
