Somehow the GUI may have been disabled.
From the command line screen, try sudo raspi-config, then select System Options -> Boot / Auto Login, then choose Desktop or Desktop Autologin. That should make you Pi automatically boot to desktop again.
If that doesn't work then the desktop start process must have got broken somehow. This can happen if you try to start the desktop manually with "sudo", which is not required and will upset file permissions.
